What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager position at State of Missouri?
Ensure optimum operation of assigned Family Store personally or through subordinate staff by meeting The Salvation Army’s goals, standards, policies and procedures, and Mission Statement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As directed by supervisor, recruit, interview, and recommend applicants for hire in order to maintain proper staffing levels. Provide orientation and training for new store personnel.
- Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage in store at all times while observing budgetary restrictions and overtime. Accurately report staff’s time for payroll purposes and ensure staff prepares and approves their time records according to correct procedure.
- Supervise employees in performance of their duties to ensure compliance with store procedures, goals, directives, guidelines, and Salvation Army policies and procedures. Provide performance management to employees with written documentation as needed. Recommend employees for termination, if necessary.
- Ensure store is laid out and merchandised in the most attractive manner possible and conducive to a positive and rewarding shopping experience. Ensure store is maintained in a neat and tidy condition at all times. Maintain good customer relations and respond to customer concerns.
- Ensure that store receipts and deposit paperwork are properly and timely prepared at end of business day and that deposits are delivered to the bank. Follow proper procedures to safeguard cash and other valuables at all times. Enforce Salvation Army cash handling policies and procedures.
- Enter and manage employees' work schedules in the ADP EeTime System. Monitor and manage employees' Actual Hours to be consistent with their Standard Weekly Hours. Enter employees’ Missed Punches and paid time off at least four times a week in order to remain current.
- Following training in its use, become proficient in the use of CounterPoint and be able to run, read, and interpret CounterPoint daily/weekly/monthly reports, to provide sales analysis, and to produce operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, or other activities as requested. Keep store personnel informed of new policies, procedures, and directives. Follow up to ensure comprehension and compliance and retrain as necessary.
- Responsible for the safety and security of the building, merchandise, donations, customers, volunteers, and employees. Practice vigilance about shrinkage and control opportunities for theft. Be aware of safety hazards and correct quickly or report to proper area at Center for repair or correction.
- Maintain awareness of store’s performance in sales, expenses, donations, production, or any other measures in relation to goals on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and be prepared to make changes in response.
- Work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends. Be prepared for reassignment to other stores at the direction of supervisor.
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly or indirectly supervises all store employees, volunteers, and Beneficiaries. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Salvation Army policies and applicable laws.
