Salary: $1,950.00 semi-monthly

South County Habilitation Center currently has an opening for a Support Care Professional. This position will mainly work Monday – Friday, with Sunday, Saturday, and Holidays off. The regular hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. however, schedule flexibility is necessary.
Job Duties:
This is mid-level professional work serving as a member of a behavior resources team providing positive behavior supports for individuals residing at South County Habilitation Center. As part of this interdisciplinary treatment team, you will assist in developing support strategies, observe behavior, provide training and implement, monitor and review individualized habilitation plans. You will also be accountable for developing, implementing, and monitoring positive behavior supports for clients with developmental disabilities. You will supervise and monitor the work of direct care staff. The successful candidate must be able to physically perform all Safety Care requirements
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the position of Habilitation Specialist II, you must possess ALL THREE of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least 24 credit hours in a human services specialty AND
- At least 1 or more years of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities AND
- Eligibility for designation as a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) under Federal standards for an intermediate Care Facility (ICF/DD, ICF/ID or ICF/MR).
This position will be filled with the most qualified candidate after consideration of each applicant’s interview, work experience, work performance, training and other background information. DMH employees who have had disciplinary actions within the past 12 months will not be considered.
