The Position
Positions allocated to this series perform complex mathematical and statistical analysis on public health databases by applying statistical theories and principles to determine cause and effect relationships.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is within the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Analytics and is located in Carson City, NV. This recruitment is for a Biostatistician II who serves as the main position analyzing Women, Infant and Children (WIC) data in a fast-paced work environment. This position is responsible for providing routine and special reports, completing data linkages, and using PowerBi, SAS and/or analytic software programming and statistical methods to complete analyses on WIC. This position requires the demonstrated use of statistical methods and programs utilizing SAS or similar analytic software. This position may require travel both in and out of state up to 25%. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, mathematics or closely related field and one year of professional experience conducting statistical analysis including gathering and analyzing data from various sources using computer software; OR one year of experience as a Biostatistician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
