Purpose of Position

Why does the job exist?
This position will manage operations for the Albuquerque Boy's Reintegration Center which houses JJS clients with approximately 20 Full Time Employees.
How does it get done?
This position reports directly to the Reintegration Superintendent.
- The position will ensure CYFD and Juvenile Justice Services (JJS) policies and procedures are adhered to by Reintegration staff and that the program is appropriately functioning;
- This position will ensure staff development and training;
- The Program Manager must be able to coordinate and facilitate supervisory meetings and team meetings;
- This position has rotating standby responsibilities for staffing, incidents and emergencies and must submit written reports;
- The Staff Manager ensures safe and secure custody of all assigned youth while ensuring that all youth are provided constitutional rights and the appropriate reporting and documentation of all violations of facility operating procedures, rules and regulations, and state and federal statutes;
- This position requires working knowledge of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Ideal Candidate
- Experience with facility or residential program management, staff development, and program planning;
- Experience managing schedules and/or conducting activities or services;
- Experience working with at-risk Juveniles in a secure environment;
- Experience with staff management, training, and development.
Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements
Must possess a current and valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated August 12, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
In addition, employees working in State correctional facilities who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to inmates are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
