The successful candidate for the CAP Electrical Field Superintendent serves as the liaison between the Electrical Construction Manager and the field CAP Electrical Supervisors to ensure all field installations are performed per the CPM Construction Schedule, plans, specifications, and relevant NC Building Codes. This position is responsible for coordinating materials and manpower to ensure field installations stay on track and coordinated with other trades. The CAP Electrical Field Superintendent may be assigned to one large dollar project or many small dollar projects and is expected to be the lead electrical contact for all field personnel to provide electrical trade knowledge, guidance, and expertise for the project(s) so that all code requirements are met, and all field installations are in accordance with the submittals, plans, and specifications.
The CAP Electrical Field Superintendent will supervise the workmanship and completeness of project assigned CAP Electrical Supervisors that function as the on-site electrical trade construction experts for the completion of the all electrical construction, renovation, major maintenance and repair activities; to ensure their compliance with daily construction activity planning in accordance with the CPM Project Schedule; on-the-job apprenticeship trainer of offender labor resources; and ensuring all electrical installations are installed per plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
A successful candidate should possess efficient decision-making capabilities, have the ability read and interpret construction plans and documents, plan and direct the work of construction personnel in the electrical trade, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, architects, engineers, contractors, and State agency managers, clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and in writing, and obtain a valid NC Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
The position requires weekly day and overnight travel to and from the assigned construction projects that could be located anywhere within the State of North Carolina. The CAP Electrical Field Superintendent position will have a duty station assigned to their home address and is assigned a State owned and maintained vehicle that is used to commute to and from the construction projects and to perform Company business during normal working hours.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

Associate's degree in construction management, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressive experience in construction or facility maintenance including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities;
or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and five (5) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including journey level experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities;
