What You’ll Do:

The AmeriCorps Program Officer plays an important part at ServeOhio. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical assistance and consultation to grant applicants and subgrantees.

  • Researching, analyzing and interpreting grant requirements.

  • Monitoring grant programs for compliance.

  • Identifying training needs and connecting subgrantees with training resources.

  • Preparing grant-related reports and documents.

  • Traveling up to 25% of your time to conduct site visits.

  • Working in-office collaboratively with other ServeOhio team members up to 25% of your time.

  • Teleworking up to 50% of your time.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications for this Position:

  • 3 courses or 9 months experience in contract & grant preparation; 3 courses or 9 months experience in accounting; 3 months training or 3 months experience in public relations.
  • Or 6 months experience as Grants Coordinator 1 (State of Ohio job code, 63161).
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Knowledge of (1) grant writing & grant review principles, (2) federal grants regulations & provisions*, (3) general management principles, (4) agency policies/procedures/systems*.

Skills in (5) word processing (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), (6) equipment operations (e.g., computer, telephone, printer, fax & calculator).

Ability to (7) gather & analyze data, (8) maintain accurate records, (9) prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports using personal computer, (10) define problems, establish facts & draw valid conclusions, (11) set priorities and meet strict deadlines, (12) function as part of a team.

  • Unless required by legislation or union contract, salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range with gradual increases in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code or OCSEA/AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
