BWC is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that can incorporate both teleworking and in-office hours. Employees may be required to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Creates content for a variety of uses including print and video materials
- Produces graphic designs, visual communications services and web content using hypertext markup language (HTML) and other software
- Produces designs for both internal and external websites (e.g. produces info graphics, images for use in social media and video, and secures, reviews & modifies as necessary); manages & posts photos and internal news content (e.g. stories, banners ad tiles)
- Creates visual solutions using scientific methods in a creative setting (e.g. identifies problems, gathers background information, consults with clients, analyzes needs, creates layout &/or elements for materials, evaluates end products)
- Creates & edits digital images, HTML emails & email templates, photographs, maps, posters & electronic presentations; organizes special promotions

Required Experience and/or Education:
Completion of undergraduate core program in visual communications with emphasis on graphic design/industrial design &/or fine arts; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in website/web page creation, design &./or development.
Or 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in electronic graphic design; 12 mos. exp. with hyper-text markup language for website/web page design &/or development.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
Necessary Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of: agency policies & procedures relative to visual communications (e.g., written, verbal, visual); public relations; visual communications; graphic/design hardware & software (e.g., PageMaker, freehand, Photoshop). Extensive knowledge of hyper-test markup language.
Skill in: operation of personal computer & using available software.
Ability to: electronically design print materials & websites/web pages & proofread print & electronic materials, recognize errors & make corrections; handles sensitive inquiries from & contacts with officials & general public; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; cooperate with co-workers on group projects.
BWC OCSEA Selection Rights
This position shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the OCSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. BWC bargaining unit members have selection rights before non-bargaining unit members. All other applications will only be considered if an internal bargaining unit applicant is not selected for this position.
Salary Information
Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary is set at lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases successful employees will move up a step in the salary range within six months, with subsequent step increases occurring every year as supported by successful performance evaluation results.

In order for any educational achievements to be considered during the screening process, you must at least attach an unofficial transcript that details the coursework you have completed.

Position may require travel; therefore, persons occupying this position must be able to provide own transportation &/or legally operate a state-owned vehicle.
