The Ohio Department of Health supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require occasional attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.
The Bureau of Child & Family Health (BCFH) is an organized effort to eliminate health disparities, improve birth outcomes and improve the health status of women, infants, children, youth and families in Ohio. Using evidenced-based and data driven practices, we support the delivery of direct services, linkages and referrals, population-based supports, education, monitoring and quality oversight, and policy and systems development.
What You'll Do:
The Health Planning Administrator 2 will manage and direct the Nutrition and Administrative Services (NAS) Program which provides consultation, evaluation, monitoring and technical assistance to local grantee agencies regarding provision of Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services. Additional duties may include:
- Develop program goals objectives and budget.
- Supervise assigned staff.
- Monitor operational performance and trends of local WIC projects to assure compliance with all regulations in the certification, nutrition education, food issuance, fiscal, administrative, management and operations components of the Ohio WIC Program.
- Monitors significant changes in federal regulations or other guidance that affects local program operations and recommends corresponding changes (e.g., policy, procedures, processes).
- Develops parameters for and directs the Management Evaluation process of each local project.
- Coordinates and cooperates with other units to provide technical assistance, nutrition recommendations, as appropriate or when requested.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to specialized audiences and the general public on topics related to other job responsibilities or areas of expertise.

Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 14, Step 1 of the union/exempt Exempt Pay Range Schedule ($35.74 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($37.78) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
