South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings. JOB PURPOSE:The Broadcast Traffic Specialist will coordinate traffic and scheduling functions for the station’s HD & digital channels. Responsible for getting media files and repackaging for broadcast. Includes proper flight schedules in logs and station promo breaks and tasks associated with interstitial content. Daily coordination and scheduling of all resources required.
JOB DUTIES: Using Meyers/Protrack and sIX, ensure all channels are getting recordings/downloads/real time feeds for broadcast from the program schedule. Using myPBS, Meyers Console and other platforms, ensure we get the correct program, identified with media ID. Update media ID with Repackaging. Check the reconciliation reports as well as other Protrack reports to ensure correct time for both broadcast programs and promos. Close out record request for completion.
Create Promo records in Protrack from list provided by Communications of weekly promotions for ETVHD, SCC, and ETV World. Enter interstitial and promos to fill breaks in the Broadcast log for ETVHD, SCC, ETV World and SCETV KIDS. Promos are entered into logs at least 3 days prior to broadcast. During Pledge, schedule pledge breaks and phone bars. Ensure proper Bugs are in the broadcast log for each channel. Ensure UW openings are attached to UW spots and connected properly for paid clients.
Prepare and proofread daily broadcast logs for air. TRAFFIC will ensure all programs have the proper media attachment, and breaks are filled. Ensure logs are created for ETVHD, SCC, ETV World and SCETV PBS Kids in advance as well as working 3 days prior to broadcast. Print and deliver logs to Master Control operations.
Assist with ETV Store DVD fulfillment as needed.
A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
