York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State. The Career and Transfer Coordinator performs the following functions: Advising/Programs & Events: Assist students with career preparation and employment readiness (resume and cover letter writing reviews, mock interviews, and/or other related items) to enhance their marketability upon graduation. Assists students with transfer planning, ensuring students understand four-year transfer options, partnerships, and other resources. Design, plan, and execute individual and group sessions, classroom presentations, and campus-wide events on various career-related topics such as job search strategies, networking, and professional development and to connect students to career and transfer opportunities.Resource Management: Manage and update career and transfer related resources, including YTC online job portal (new account requests, resume review/approval, student communications), relevant webpages, and informational materials (transfer guides, career development resources).Manage Work-Based Learning (WBL) program to include participating in initial student internship inquiry appointments to explain requirements and process. Manage CWE course edits in learning management system. Cultivate relationships with internal departments and local employers to source internship opportunities. Market opportunities to students.Partnerships/Collaboration: Partner with Workforce Solutions/Workforce & Economic Development team to provide career services. Build and establish relationships with transfer representatives to stay abreast of transfer resources and events that may be beneficial to students. Work collaboratively with Academic Support Services team to support faculty/academic programs and provide training and support to academic advisors.Supervision & Other Duties: Supervise part-time assistant to provide training and guidance in executing assigned duties. Participate in activities required by the College, which relate to departmental/College goals or the College mission, and perform other duties as assigned.
