The Classification and Compensation Analyst provides guidance, policy interpretation, and consultation to HR contacts and managers regarding organizational position needs, salaries, and proper classification within the State structure and other classification and compensation related issues to ensure compliance with Federal and State law as well as University policies and procedures. Analyze positions through job analysis, desk audits, and review of comparable positions. Ensures effective position management through the reclassification and assignment of State allocated positions. |
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. |
Knowledge or experience with the State’s classification system and Human Resources regulations. Experience performing job analysis, market pricing, and salary survey participation. |
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle data with confidentiality; ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Ability to analyze requests and make sound recommendations or solutions. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers. Must possess the ability to write clearly, accurately, and effectively. |
