This is position is located in Information Technology Services, Richland County.
Are you the One? We are looking for a Project Manager II, who works directly with the Bureau of Infrastructure and Operations (I/O) team to ensure the successful completion and ongoing maturation of infrastructure and operations enterprise related projects.
- Indirectly manage staff project workload and operations, interact with staff, other team members, all levels of management and internal and external organizations, including vendors overseeing and managing outsourced work, in the management of infrastructure and operations logistics needed for large enterprise and complex project plans, portfolio/program, plans, metrics, reports, and executive level project management documentation.
- Defines project objectives, scope, and project charter by reviewing project proposal to determine time frame, available funding, procedures, and various phases of project life cycle for major infrastructure and operation enterprise projects; may require travel to other SCDHHS offices to determine requirements, physical assessments, and key stakeholder needs associated with Infrastructure and Operations projects.
- Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT Infrastructure and Operations community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
- Work with technical staff and business stakeholders to create deliverables and artifacts that are intended for audiences of varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Determines and evaluates risks that may affect the complex enterprise project and implement a risk mitigation strategy.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or Point of Contact (POC) for developing and managing processes related to a robust System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Make recommendations on specific improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, report template and structure, and productivity to I/O Leadership and deputy leadership.
