Job Overview:
Our Tennessee State Parks are among the most beautiful parks in the United States. We have an outstanding opportunity to work in a beautiful work environment at Cumberland Trail State Park at the Park Headquarters located near Crossville, TN in Cumberland County at the Head of the Sequatchie. The Park Manager 2 is essential to providing leadership and management, safety and security, educational, and administrative support for the park and its guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of 15 full-time staff preparing work schedules, and assignments and administering the performance management cycle.
- Serve as a commissioned officer providing and maintaining park safety and security, including law enforcement, first responder, and basic first aid services.
- Oversee the park's annual operating budget, operations, and visitor services.
- Participate in community outreach programs partnering with local businesses, local officials, and volunteers to promote the park, and integrate the community impacting economic development.
- Oversee the completion of the Cumberland Trail through land acquisitions and trail construction contracts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have natural resource or parks and recreation management experience and a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Based Management (Natural Resources, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, etc.), Park and Recreation Management or related field. Candidates are required to either be a state-commissioned officer recognized by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy or willing to complete the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training and become commissioned prior to the end of the probationary period.
