About the opportunity:
This position is a part of the Computing Services department (CSD), which manages and provides strategic direction and leadership for information technology services to public organizations. CSD is accountable for sound business management, planning, budgeting, and all aspects of service delivery including quality, reliability, customer satisfaction, and financial viability.
 
As a BizTalk Systems Administrator, you will be relied on to provide system administration and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) services for the Microsoft BizTalk platform in support of the mission critical Justice Information Network Data Exchange (JINDEX) application. Agencies rely on these systems and services to focus their resources on their organizational missions.
 

Some of what you can expect: 
  • Identify and research future systems technology and serves as subject matter expert on Microsoft BizTalk platform. 
  • Ensure Windows and BizTalk patches are applied appropriately.
  • Manage the process for onboarding new law enforcement agencies into the eTrip/JINDEX systems.
  • Provide technical consultation on current and proposed platform-based solutions.
  • Develop proposals and work estimates for changes to application functions or processes.
  • Respond promptly to Tier 2 & 3 tickets.
  • Lead technical assessments with partner agencies in identifying business requirements and ensure delivered solutions meet performance expectations.
  • Use performance tuning software, tools, or measuring techniques to monitor and improve the configuration of network, system, or application performance or capacity.
  • Develop and maintain build documentation for application installation and configuration.
  • Develop alternatives, coordinate recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions.
 
Here is what we are looking for:
  • Nine years of hands-on experience in administrating, troubleshooting, analyzing, designing, programming, or integrating (EAI) computer systems or databases in support of a client/server Windows environment. This experience must also include the following:
    • Three years’ experience working with and managing Microsoft BizTalk environments or similar experience with web services (WSDL/SOAP).
    • One year demonstrated proficiency in automating routine and complex tasks using scripting or programming (ideally PowerShell).
**Formal education in information technology or related field may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis for up to six years.**
  • Demonstrated ability troubleshooting of system and network integrations, applications, databases, web servers, and other complex systems.
 
Preference shall be given to those who possess the following:
  • Completed or is in the process of completing Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification.
