Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA) is seeking a Social and Health Program Consultant 4 to join the Adult Protective Services (APS) team. This role is a great growth opportunity for someone who is interested in exercising their training and leadership skills and taking on a new challenge! In this role, you will provide training to new and veteran APS Investigators, both within Region 1 and across the state. To be successful, you will need to have skills and abilities to lead effectively, have a good understanding of the APS policies and procedures, and have great time management skills. In addition to training, you will assist with regional quality assurance activities, curriculum development, and other duties to support the regional management and staff to include maintaining databases, assist staff with the computer systems required to do the job, and possibly provide teaching related to those systems.The duty station for this position can be in any Region 1 APS office and the position is flexible to include the option of telework. Travel will be required to facilitate training throughout the region and to attend meetings in person when needed. Some of what you’ll do: Provide coaching, mentoring, and on the job training for APS investigatorsDevelop and facilitate virtual and in-person training for APS staff Provide training in group settings and support investigators on an individual level, providing 1:1 supportProvide mentoring, shadowing, and training in the fieldServe as a panel member for the regional Investigation Review TeamDevelop and maintain regional databasesDevelop and facilitate regional training on databases and systems for APS staffAssist with yearly and monthly quality assurance activitiesComplete focused reviews and investigate cases as necessarySupply feedback and assist in developing local policies and procedures and ensure they are followed in accordance with RCW, WAC, and ALTSA policies regarding long-term careWhat we’re looking for: Knowledge and skill to interpret existing state and federal statutes and regulations pertaining ALTSA service programsKnowledge of APS program rules and policiesAbility to organize and manage work efficiently and effectivelyAbility to work independently and as a part of a teamTraining and group facilitation skillsProficiency with verbal and written communicationCompetency in analyzing situations and developing solutionsWho should apply: Professionals with –One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent OR Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent OR A master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field AND four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs OR A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field AND five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs. Note: A degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
