JOB DESCRIPTION

We're looking for a passionate piano technician to help maintain our pianos, harpsichords, and keyboards. The position includes excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth. This is a full-time, temporary, 12-month position, beginning on or before September 1, 2023. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in upkeep, repair, and tuning of the university inventory of pianos, harpsichords, and keyboards;
Work reliably, efficiently, and independently on tasks as assigned;
Communicate effectively with faculty, students, and staff, both verbally and in writing;
Assist in training student assistants or apprentices;
Understand and follow all university policies.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree completed by August 2023;
Demonstrated experience in piano tuning, maintenance, and/or repair.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's (or graduate) degree in music or related field of study;
Five years of experience in piano tuning, maintenance, and/or repair;
Experience working in community, university, and/or professional music performance environments;
Professional certification (e.g., from a recognized trade school, Piano Technicians Guild Registered Piano Technician in good standing, C.F. Theodore Steinway Technical Academy).

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, 12 month Temporary position starting on or before September 1, 2023 with an annual salary of $45,000.
