JOB SUMMARY:
Assisting customers with purchases in the meat department, offering preparation and serving suggestions, maintaining stock level in display cases, and processing of meat department products, clean-up and safety and sanitation of equipment and department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist the customer with purchases of products and with other services such as slicing, grinding, repackaging, serving suggestions, cooking procedures, etc.
- Responsible for wrapping, scaling, trimming, pricing and price changes of all meat department products according to company procedures and policies including customer protection laws and applicable weights and measures regulations
- Maintains the proper supply of products in the cases and packaged deli through proper rotation and display of product per company standards and schematics
- Responsible for cleanup of wrapping, scaling, and production equipment according to proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of product preparation, storage and identification knowledge
- Orders products and supplies, inventories products and supplies as assigned
- Other related duties as required
- This position requires bending, twisting, stooping and lifting up to 100-lbs., as well as the ability to work continually on your feet in a wet, cold environment.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
- Ability to read equipment manuals, shelf tags and prices, and labels
- Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to use good judgment in dealing with customers and co-workers
- Must maintain a sense of integrity
- Valid Health Card
