Job Description
Statkraft is Europe's largest generator of renewable energy from hydro, wind and solar power. We are 4800 employees in 19 countries across the globe. Our aim is to become a leading developer of onshore wind and solar projects, taking on a significantly larger number of projects than before. Statkraft’s target is to deliver 9 GW of wind and solar to 2025, and thereafter to deliver an annual 2.5-3GW across our markets.
The Commercial, Portfolio and Regulatory unit in the hydrogen organization is a growing team of 6 employees. We will ensure that Statkraft is able to assess and select the right hydrogen projects, find the right partners and acquisition opportunities to achieve our hydrogen ambitions, deliver optimal solutions for our hydrogen customers, and have the knowledge of the hydrogen market and regulation to make the right decisions and influence our environment. The team works in close collaboration with and often as an integrated part of the local hydrogen project development teams.
The team work closely together with all parts of Statkraft involved in hydrogen development, and be involved with Statkraft’s teams across the globe (Including Nordics, UK, Germany, Netherlands, India, Chile and more).
The key aspects of the role are:
- Develop and maintain the business case and valuation model for hydrogen projects and drive the financial optimization of projects – as an integrated part of the hydrogen project development teams
- Advise on commercial aspects of the hydrogen portfolio across Statkraft’s markets with hydrogen activities
- Develop Statkraft’s commercial hydrogen offering to partners and customers
- Lead or participate in investment and transaction support for acquisitions, partnerships, and sell-downs of hydrogen projects, including negotiation support
- Support in assessing and securing hydrogen route-to-market and power procurement approach for hydrogen projects – in close collaboration with our hydrogen clients, asset owners, and the Statkraft Markets team
- Support strategic initiatives on hydrogen within the commercial space (e.g. new geographies, new customer segments, hydrogen price analyses, etc.)
Qualifications
- University degree within relevant area with documented extensive experience in the field.
- Experience in commercial, strategy, M&A or similar related fields, either from the renewables sector (hydrogen, wind, solar, etc.), the broader energy sector, or e.g., from investment banks or management consulting
- Demonstrated strong commercial understanding, insight into project economics and key value drivers for various types of investors in the renewables sector
- Strong and proven ability to lead and develop people and collaborate with others
- Strong ability to take initiative, drive and manage projects and processes with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Exposure to PPA negotiation is an advantage
- Positive attitude with an ability to work on various ad hoc projects concurrently with a demonstrated ability to manage a large workload
- Professionalism and integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other main European languages would be an advantage
