What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Clerk position at Stauff Corporation?
The Receiving Clerk will assist the Receiving Lead to manage the receiving function effectively and safely. Principal duties include, but not limited to receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments of raw material and/or product as well as unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they are received in acceptable quality condition and accurate. The Warehouse Receiving Clerk is also responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through disciplined material put-a-way and bins replenishment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an exceptional commitment to safety, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
- Unload packages from incoming trucks.
- Inspect packages to ensure they are in acceptable quality condition.
- Verify packages according to purchase order to ensure material and quantity accuracy.
- Communicates and coordinates with appropriate Buyer for product returns.
- Update the inventory management system by posting daily receipts and forwarding proper documentation to Accounting Dept.
- Label all packages, allocate them to their designated warehouse locations as well as perform transactions using RF scanner.
- Keep accurate records to support staff functions such as Accounting, Inventory Control, and Purchasing.
- Ensure all aisles and docks are kept clear.
- Maintain safe work environment following company procedures and safety regulations.
- Comply with ISO9001:2008 regulations and procedures.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as walk-behind, forklift, pallet jack, etc.
- Ability to read and write English and solid math proficiency required.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Be an active participant in a "hands-on" work environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work with numerous large numbers and multiple units of measure.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Previous warehouse receiving experience required.
- Previous experience with SAP (ERP system) is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time – Frequently.
- Physically able to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds – Occasionally.
- Bending and twisting – Occasionally.
- Use of close vision – Frequently.
- Use hands/fingers to reach, handle, and feel – Frequently.
