QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician
- Ability to pass fingerprint criminal background check
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports
- Demonstrates aptitude for successful completion of the tasks as assigned
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director
JOB GOAL: Substitute for absent custodial staff
To provide students, staff and visitors with a safe, clean, attractive, comfortable, and efficient school every day.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below but not limited to:
- Clean and maintain all buildings, grounds and major equipment.
- Assist general mechanics in remodeling and renovation work.
- Perform grounds keeping duties such as grass cutting, tree trimming, and athletic field prep, as necessary to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
- Shovel, plow, and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as needed.
- Received and distribute packages, supplies and equipment, and maintain inventories.
- Assume responsibility for the general security and fire safety of the building.
- Perform emergency repair or cleaning services as necessary.
- Prepare venue for athletic events, meetings, ceremonies, and special events.
- Keep the grounds free from rubbish
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month year. Salary, work schedule, vacation, sick leave and personal leave as established by the Board of Education.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Demands: bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs., repetitive motions, ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Environmental Conditions:
The majority of work is performed indoors with some outdoor work required year-round,
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education policy.
