What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Welder/Machine Operator position at Stealth Products, LLC.?
To assist with welding components and machine operation to support Production and fabrication departments
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES*Assist with fabricating and modifying parts to print specification
*Follow direction of Fabrication leadership to learn and have the ability to jig and weld parts to print specifications
*Assist with properly assembling and welding components to blueprint specifications
*Cross train in other functions of the Machine operation as necessary
*Further develop skills related the machining and welding by proactively seeking additional training opportunities
*Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
*Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
*Work effectively with all fabrication departments to exceed internal and external expectations
*Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
*Stealth retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS*Must be a team player, friendly, detail-oriented, and honest
Must have the ability to:
*Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
*Work within tolerance as specified by drawings, prints or verbal instruction
*Work with precision tools and measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, and height gages
*Read and comprehend work instructions and prints
*Use hand tools and standard power tools
*Set up and operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill presses
*Be cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work area(s)
*Pass various Welding tests for Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding of carbon steel and aluminum
*Lift/push/pull up to 50lbs
Must have:
*Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
*A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
*Basic working/training knowledge of MIG and TIG welding and torch skills
*Excellent math skills
*Good verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS*Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE*No experience required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE*1 year of welding experience including the use of MIG, TIG, and aluminum preferred
*1 year of experience as a machinist operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill presses preferred
*1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
*Current or previous successful employment experience with Stealth Products (directly, independently or through a third party)
REQUIRED EDUCATION*High School Diploma or GED
PREFERRED EDUCATION*Technical school training in machining, welding or CNC programming preferred
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
