Essential Functions:
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing front office and guest service staff in details of work. Provide staffing, training, counseling and performance reviews for the Spa.
- Plan, organize, and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by SELMC, which requires continuous visual inspection of spa functions.
- Establishes, coordinates, and administers financial planning and control leading to the success of ongoing operations. Develops and administers budget, approves invoices before payment, authorizes expenditures, manages payroll to maintain fiscal control necessary to achieve financial goals.
- Work with the Director of Sales and Marketing to recommend package development and promotional materials with a high degree of spa awareness in the hotel and marketplace.
- Specify retail and operational product lines ensuring superior service and profitable operations.
- Develops and administers standard operation procedures for the Spa(s), fitness center(s), and pool(s) to maintain safe, sanitary, and efficient operations.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the industry and liaisons with vendors and similar properties.
- Ensures proper physical maintenance and care of the building in coordination with the Director of Engineering and the Executive Housekeeper.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by Executive Management.
- Distribute and delegate workload to guarantee maximum production and guest satisfaction with minimum outlay of expenses in terms of labor and materials.
- Handle and resolve issues raised by guests regarding quality of service provided by front office and guest service personnel.
- Ability to deal effectively with associates, vendors and contractors.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Incorporate training plans critical to insurance recommendations.
- Maximize profits by generating revenues and minimize expenses.
- Create a luxury and relaxing environment for spa guests.
- Promote wellness.
- Design and implement retail product lines to maximize revenues and profits while maintaining themes of spa and wellness.

Education, Experience, and Skills Preferred:
- Demonstrates clear, concise written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong guest service orientation and skills.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Requires working knowledge of computers and software programs, financial statements, and marketing strategies.
- Demonstrates full working knowledge of spa, pool, and fitness operations.
- Possess working knowledge of benefits and protocols of spa therapies.
- High school diploma/college degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of spa management experience and practical applications in hotel spas.
- Professional demeanor.
