Job Title: Construction Expeditor

We are seeking a Construction Expeditor to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, production schedules, work orders, accounting information, and trade scheduling.

Position Summary: As a Construction Expeditor, you will be responsible for coordinating and expediting various aspects of construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include ordering materials, tracking production schedules, submitting work orders to contractors, maintaining detailed accounting records, and scheduling trades to ensure efficient project execution.

***Seeking part-time employee (or full-time with growth in role) in office 3 days a week (Mon., Wed., Fri.)**

Key Responsibilities:

Material Procurement:
Identify project material requirements and order them in a timely manner.
Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and competitive pricing.
Monitor material inventory and coordinate restocking as needed.

Production Schedule Management:
Collaborate with project managers to create and maintain production schedules.
Monitor progress against schedules and proactively address any delays or issues.
Ensure that all construction activities adhere to established timelines.

Work Order Submission:
Prepare and submit work orders to contractors, specifying project details, requirements, and deadlines.
Coordinate with contractors to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks.
Monitor work order progress and address any deviations from the plan.

Accounting and Financial Tracking:
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records related to project expenses, material costs, and contractor payments.
Assist in budget tracking and cost control efforts.
Prepare reports summarizing financial information for project stakeholders.

Trade Scheduling:
Schedule and coordinate the activities of various trades, including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians.
Ensure that tradespeople are allocated to projects efficiently and in accordance with project timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in construction expediting or a related role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and regulations.
