```Duties```
- Experienced Legal Assistant/Closing Secretary sought for small Putnam, CT law general practice with an emphasis on real estate, estate planning and probate. Only experienced candidates need apply. The successful candidate will have familiarity with all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, and be well versed in TRID and closing software. Duties will also include interacting with clients, lenders, realtors and the public, both in person and on the phone. Pay and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
Other duties include:
- Assist attorney in preparing legal documents
- Maintain and organize case files and documents
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Answer phone calls and take messages with proper phone etiquette
- Interview clients to gather information for cases
- Prepare correspondence
- File documents with the court system
- Assist with legal drafting and proofreading documents
```Requirements```
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conduct legal research and gather relevant information
- Familiarity with filing documents with the court system
-Familiarity with QuickBooks is a must
