Position Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for helping define and lead business critical, new product development efforts from concept through design transfer into production. They will utilize influencing leadership to drive a cross functional team to delivery high quality products on time and within budget. The program manager will interface to senior management providing critical actionable updates, will coordinate cross functional leads to ensure efficient interaction and engage with engineering teams to realize complex medical device designs.

Duties

  • Owns the overall program management of the product development to ensure targets are met including quality, costs, reliability, manufacturability, etc.
  • Develops the cross-functional plan/strategy and drives execution of identified products on the roadmap for a product line or platform.
  • Ensures the New Product Development / Design Control / lifecycle management process is followed to assure all planned business/customer requirements area satisfied.
  • Coordinates the preparation of business plans, specifications, operating budgets, capital budgets and resource estimates.
  • Facilitates communication and interaction among functional business heads to ensure transparency of critical deliverables and milestones in the NPD process.
  • Delivers critical, timely communications to the business (R&D Leader, GM, and Controller) on product development and delivery.
  • Identifies critical dependences, risks and contingency plans. Proactively monitors progress, anticipating the effect of dependencies on schedule, cost, etc.
  • Provides performance feedback regarding team members to appropriate Functional Managers

Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, etc)
  • 7 years experience in project management associated with complex new product development in a medical device or a regulated industry.
  • Strong project management skills required; PMP certification a plus.
  • Experience successfully leading new product development projects through initial concept, feasibility, development, verification, validation and transferred into production. Sustaining engineering experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including conflict resolution, assertiveness and negotiation skills required.
  • Experience in successfully coordinating with functional departments (e.g. Legal, Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Clinical Affairs, Operations, Marketing, Quality, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and influence management skills including evidence of leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to balance customer, manufacturing, business and regulatory requirements to expedite launch of the right product to market.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program management tools and procedures for setting and tracking performance, quality, time and cost; strong planning and organization skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound data driven business decisions; understand, track, drill down and question activities and issues in all functional areas
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through skills and experience to check behind the scenes to ensure surprises are minimized.

Pay range for this opportunity is $104,680.00 - $140,920.50. This position is eligible for bonus participation.


Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.


Employees (and their families) may enroll in our company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, health savings account, voluntary benefits, supplemental life/AD&D plans and the company’s 401k plan. Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability. Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
