Job Overview
The Senior Payroll Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with legislative requirements.
This role also involves establishing and maintaining proper systems and controls to ensure timely and accurate payments to employees, government agencies, and third-party entities.
The Senior Payroll Systems Analyst works closely with internal and external auditors to ensure payroll compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate processing of payroll and implement systems to streamline the payroll process.
- Provide support to plants and employees regarding payroll-related issues and collaborate with payroll processors to resolve them.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to associates, governments, and third-party agencies, while maintaining proper accounting practices to avoid penalties.
- Assist the payroll processing team in problem-solving and provide training for process changes.
- Ensure the proper functioning and compliance of hardware, software, and corporate policies related to payroll.
- Act as the specialist for payroll systems and processes, working with auditors to ensure compliance with SOX and payroll regulations.
- Manage payroll ACH file processing, check printing, and distribution.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in Employee Central Cloud payroll and lead training initiatives for the processing team.
- Collaborate with the payroll manager on continuous improvement initiatives, M&A integrations, and other payroll projects.
- Handle required payroll filings, such as quarterly 's, annual , W2, , and others.
- Act as the primary contact for external vendor programs related to employee benefits and deductions.
Technical / Functional Skills
- Extensive knowledge of Employee Central Cloud Payroll
- Proficiency in SQL database management
- Strong PC skills, particularly in Excel
- Thorough understanding of payroll legislative requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
- Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
- In-depth knowledge of US payroll tax regulations and banking procedures
- Experience with ADP stand-alone payroll services
Education
- Minimum : High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience
- Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business with a minimum of 6 years of Payroll experience
- Previous experience with Payroll Tax, SOX, Compliance, and Garnishments
- Certified Payroll Professional
