What do we need?

We are looking for an eDiscovery Analyst who will work under the direct supervision of the Electronic Discovery & Litigation Practice Technology Manager, the eDiscovery Analyst supports case teams and performs technology and electronically stored information (ESI) related activities associated with a client and matter specific project. The eDiscovery Analyst should be local to the DC metro area or willing to relocate. 

How will you make an impact?

  • Administering Reveal environment: users, security groups, configurations, permissions; Creating Reveal workspaces; processing data in Reveal workspaces; running searches at a case team request in Reveal workspaces; and producing documents from Reveal workspaces
  • Searching databases, printing reports, preparing custom reports and logging, modifying and coding data, print and organizing images. Assisting case teams with production of documents.  Working with legal support personnel to efficiently transition appropriate document management responsibilities to the team
  • Establishing a liaison role with the case team and assisting with any litigation support (eDiscovery) requirements.
  • Consulting with and advising case teams on how to best use litigation support (eDiscovery) technologies to support their projects and consults on matters relating to electronic discovery as well as best practices for the preparation of documents (hardcopy and electronic format) for the automation process
  • Consulting with legal teams and clients on issues relating to the selection of third party hosting vendors and evaluation of proprietary review platforms, proper document production formats, management of vendor bidding and selection process, understanding the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and best practices for preservation and collection and document review and production workflow
  • Responsible for data validation and system/access management utilizing SOPs as required.
  • Working closely with attorneys and case teams to setup projects, project timeline estimates, and project specifications
  • Communicating frequently with case teams to resolve issues and provide status updates according to case need
  • Working on document searches throughout various databases and platforms
  • Maintaining accurate and current records of all aspects of project related to job tracking, specifications, and chain of custody related documents
  • Assisting case teams with technology workflows including the use of TAR on cases to efficiently and quickly review documents
  • Delivering training on firm standard litigation support applications (Reveal, Relativity, Brainspace, Case Notebook, Everchron) to users throughout the firm.
  • Leveraging resources to deliver an “in office” experience to case teams traveling for trials
  • Coordinating the cross-functional delivery of services to case teams, and serve as main contact for all IT questions, concerns and needs during trials
  • Utilizes audio and visual equipment to display courtroom graphics and exhibits
  • Assisting with maintaining knowledge databases relevant to trials and presentation work including information about judges’ preferences regarding IT set-ups, courtroom layouts, courthouse restrictions or requirements for the use of outside IT equipment

What will you bring to the role?

  • 1-2 years of eDiscovery experience at a law firm or vendor preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Electronic Discovery and e-Discovery principles preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the concepts, principles, management and processing of ESI as they relate to legal matters, including the use of various ESI collection, management, review and processing tools and applications preferred.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must deliver high-quality work product and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work overtime and travel for trial support.
  • Core hours are 1:00pm – 9:30pm. On-call every third week from Monday to Friday from 9:30pm – 12:00 pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.

The good faith base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $80,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
