POSITION SUMMARY:
Observes, interprets and documents cardiac rhythms. Complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital, collaborating with the medical staff when performing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards. Serves as a resource to nursing staff in use of monitor equipment. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience preferred
- Current BLS Certification
- Basic arrhythmia course
- Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
- Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment
