Steward Machine Company is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager for the Birmingham, Alabama location. The successful candidate will possess the knowledge and understanding of the following:
Minimum Requirements
- Steel buying
- Knowledge of both repetitive and job shop purchasing techniques.
- Proficient with MRP software systems and tools.
- Must possess good purchasing and negotiation skills.
- Must be able to lead subordinates and have a track record of excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity in material nesting software.
- Must demonstrate the ability to manage time and subordinates.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience managing a purchasing department.
Preferred Requirements
- A degree in Supply Chain management and/or certifications (i.e., CPSM) are considered a plus.
- Epicor 10 experience is a plus.
