Position performs daily administrative and human resource duties. These duties include: assisting with recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, training, regulatory compliance and overseeing HR events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in monitoring performance evaluation program by informing supervisors and tracking those that are overdue.
Assists in recruitment effort for personnel, administers pre-employment tests, conducts interviews, conducts reference checks, and prepares for new hires.
Assists adequacy of new hire documentation and conducts New Employee Orientation.
Assists in the coordination of maintenance of permanent employee records. Updates personnel hard copy files and data in the computer. Protects the privacy and confidentiality of employees.
Develops and produces a variety of HR reports including employment and attendance reports.
Assists in maintaining recognition and awards programs and coordinates company parties.
Inspires and motivates others to perform well and accept feedback from others.
Makes self available to employees to provide support, feedback and encourage growth.
Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of company policy and procedures.
Knowledge of and proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, HRIS/Sage systems, etc.
Knowledge of human behavior and motivational factors affecting employee performance and self-esteem.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform duties and prioritize duties as workload requires.
Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
Ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management skills.
Work Conditions:
Must be willing to work 40 hours per week.
All work done primarily in an office environment.
Must be accepting of interruptions made by employees.
Must have reliable transportation to allow presence in different business locations.
Education/ Experience:
2 year’s previous experience in Human Resources or related field
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.

Contract-to-hire.
Pay starting at $18/hourly.
Onsite in Peoria, IL.
