What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Associate position at STL?
Job Description of a Manufacturing Parts Finisher:
- Neaten and smooth the rough edges or ridges of metal
- Position and fasten work pieces.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machine.
- Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and gauges.
- Read and interpret blueprints to insure parts are being made according to specifications.
- Operate hoist in order to load parts onto machining center, lathe, or mill.
Requirements of a Manufacturing Parts Finisher:
- Mechanically inclined
- Warehouse/Farm/Automotive/Manufacturing background
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds
- Willingness to learn a skilled trade
