As a Retail Trainer, you will be a subject matter expert on many different programs and procedures. Your day will be filled with opportunities to train new and existing employees and lead and exemplify the Stock Yards Bank WOW! customer service principles.
Banking and instructional experience with good communication skills is important while Stock Yards Bank will provide a professional environment to continually improve the candidates skills and to further their career goals for advancement within the banking profession.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Coordinate and facilitate the following courses :
- Teller Training*
- Platform Training*
- IRA Training*
- Consumer Lending*
- Update and maintain the following training guides :
- Teller Fundamentals*
- Platform Training Guide*
- Consumer Lending Training Guide*
- Act as immediate supervisor during an employees initial training period by assuming the following responsibilities :
- Coaching professionalism*
- Addressing employee misconduct and dress code violations*
- Preparing and conducting employee counseling and corrective actions*
- Approving time*
- Making independent decisions regarding employee success in programs and makes employment recommendations to hiring manager and HR Manager*
- Review various policies, procedures, and computer programs to determine effectiveness as well as troubleshoot reoccurring issues
Conduct follow-up conversations and in some cases, on-site visits, to ensure the quality of training in addition to the retention and application of learned skills for new Retail employees
- Work closely with department / branch supervisors to create appropriate and topical employee meetings
- Remain in regular communication with employee supervisors regarding training performance
- Participate in branch meetings as content expert, as requested, to provide further information and instruction and to refresh on content previously learned
- Develop, coordinate and instruct specialized trainings during acquisitions
- Support and develop on the job training material and trainers
- Coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly training
- Create and conduct new courses as needed
- Constantly review current classes to gauge effectiveness of content and make appropriate updates as needed
- Assist employees with procedural and policy questions
- Open new employee bank accounts for new hires as needed
- Create and conduct training as needed for updates to the various computer programs used bank wide
- Help IT department in the selection, implementation and ongoing monitoring of new software
- Serve as a back-up to Training Coordinator in maintaining Online Training Learning Management System
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required, BA / BS preferred
- 2-3 years of instructional experience preferred
- Good interpersonal skills
- True interest in assisting people in goal achievement
- Comfortable speaking and instructing large groups as well as small groups of individuals
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to be flexible in given situations
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience
- Strong writing ability and clarity of speech
- Professional appearance and demeanor
