INTERNAL SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT Location: Colorado Springs, CO Pay Range: $65,000-$85,000 per year

What We’re Looking For:
Minimum 3-4 years’ related experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Reader/Pro
Proficient in QuickBooks (Bill.com & Bamboo HR a plus)
What You’ll Be Doing: As an Internal Senior Staff Accountant at Stockman Kast Ryan Co. you’ll focus on recording and analyzing financial transactions, paying, and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills. As part of the team, you’ll assist with monthly closings, financial analysis, oversight and management of controls and compliance, tax, and cash projections.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare (rather than oversight) monthly bank reconciliations.
Prepare and/or review financial statements within required deadlines. Distribute to appropriate personnel with pertinent supporting information. Respond to inquiries and requests regarding financial information.
Ensure accounting records and appropriate reports are prepared accurately and punctually and maintained up to date (i.e. sales tax, 1099’s).
Prepare and or review journal entry postings.
Analyze monthly fluctuations and cash flow.
Prepare and process payroll, including submission of files for employee benefits.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations, and complete month-end and year-end close responsibilities following established closing timelines.
Prepare and oversight of accounts payable processes.
Analyzing and recording credit card transactions.
Tax compliance, state business registrations, and state and local sales and use tax.
Document processes for various financial applications.
Reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) while actively seeking opportunities to optimize existing workflows.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Excellent written communication skills including strong spelling and grammar.
Must be organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while working independently.
Maintains a positive attitude, good communication, and working relationships with support staff, colleagues, and supervisors.
