Description/Job Summary
Responsible for assisting the Bank's loan department with research and other duties as assigned. The most important aspect of this position requires careful attention to detail and expert research skills. You will be asked to assist in the due diligence process related to pending loans and to perform minimum legal research and prepare materials based on the research you perform that will serve as the basis for transaction structures (when and if applicable).
Responsibilities/Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assemble various loan documents, working closely with loan operations and credit analyst.
- Handle all exceptions for designated lenders.
- Work with appraisers, title companies, flood determination companies and other third-party vendors.
- Research UCC liens and make UCC filings in several states.
- Draft correspondence to customers.
- Maintain selected and specified files.
- Communicate with customers and potential customers.
- Pull and replace loan files, as needed.
- Assist with maintaining the integrity of the loan files.
- Maintain knowledge of Board-approved loan policy and regulations pertaining to lending.
- Work with lender on gathering and assembling pre-loan closing documents utilizing the required loan checklist and review the printed documents for closing in a timely manner as prescribed by the lenders.
- Ensure all required loan documents are available to the lenders for closing.
- Close loans upon lenders' requests.
- Perform post-loan closing review of documents for signatures; ensure all documents are in the packet using loan checklist, forward the documents to Loan Operations in a timely manner.
- Prepare reports as directed by the lenders.
- Review new laws and regulations that influence lending within the Bank.
- Courier documents when needed.
- Follow Stone Bank's policies, procedures, and standards.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ten years' experience in financial institution lending.
- Proficient in document preparation, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
- A strong organizational ability, dedication to quality and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines for multiple parties.
- The ability to think quickly in complex situations.
- The ability to solve challenging problems in a pressure filled environment.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Job Environment: Required to work in Stone Bank's Little Rock, AR office with face-to-face customer contact as well as telephone contact with bank employees and customers.
Equipment Used: Adding machine/calculator; telephone; Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Word and Excel), printer, copier/scanner.
Physical Criteria: Office location may require ability to descend/ascend stairs or ladder; walk from parking lot; bend to retrieve and or place files in file drawers, on shelves, under desk, and/or on cart; lift files/office supplies up to 25 lbs.; sit for long periods of time; perform extensive computer work; and adequately hear and verbally communicate with employees and customers face-to face and over the telephone.
