What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Line Leader position at Stone Plastics?
Stone Plastics is currently seeking outstanding individuals to join our production team on 2nd shift (2:45pm-11:15pm). As a Line Leader you will receive an in-depth on the job training, where you will receive training with our support team, process engineers and tooling. You will also train with another Line Leader to adequately prepare you for your role.

What Success Looks Like (How)
The rest of the organization is employed to service the Line Leader so that the Line Leader may focus on and successfully fulfill these three primary functions without distraction.
The Line Leader's role is to setup, startup and run consistent processes on their machines as defined by the Process Engineer. The Line Leader may be assisted by the Support Team during product change over, but it is still the Line Leader's responsibility. The Line Leader is responsible for performing validation of the molding process through-out the production run. If the process validation does not meet the standard, the Line Leader must stop and fix! If unable to diagnose and/or fix the issue, the Line Leader will contact their Supervisor for assistance.
The Line Leader is responsible for ensuring parts meet visual customer requirements by comparing production to both the ‘visual master part’ and the ‘key features master part’. The Line Leader relies on the Gager’s feedback regarding part dimensional and color/gloss customer requirements. If the Line Leader identifies production does not meet customer requirements, stop and fix! If unable to diagnose and/or fix the issue, the Line Leader will contact their Supervisor for assistance.
The Line Leader is 100% responsible for making sure the Operators not only have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform their job successfully, but must also ensure Operators are correctly following the standard work instructions for their assigned jobs. In addition, the Line Leader is responsible for making sure the Operator understands the next person to touch their parts is the customer… and a disappointed customer means we fail while a happy customer means we succeed!
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience desired.
- Plastic Injection Molding experience desired.
- Leadership experience is a plus.
Physical Demands
In this position you may be required to routinely walk, stand for extended periods of time, and have specific vision abilities related to depth perception and color vision. You may also be required to lift and carry items weighing less than 40 lbs. While performing this position, you will often be exposed to moving or mechanical parts and moderate noise levels found in a manufacturing environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Guidance and direction to 1 – 8 Operators and support staff.
Work Environment
The role is carried out on the production floor. The production floor is an industrial manufacturing environment that is, at times, noisy and fast paced with constant movement of heavy equipment. The indoor climate is seasonably warm during summer months, comfortably cool during winter months. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required for all production floor positions, which may include steel-toed shoes or boots and approved eye protection.
