Job duties entail teaching adaptive skills one-on-one to children with an autism spectrum disorder and their families in the home and the community using prescribed ABA methods. Duties also include…

  • Observing patient behavior and applying ABA principles.
  • Implementing interventions for behavioral and developmental challenges.
  • Educating patients and their parents in adaptive activities.
  • Customizing treatment plans for individual patients.
  • Providing feedback to patients.
  • Communicating with parents.
  • Recognizing critical improvements in patient behaviors through data collection.
  • Instructing in activities and exercises to help patients develop the skills and mechanisms needed to manage their diagnoses.
  • Collaborating with patients' families to obtain feedback on implemented treatment plans and patients' progress.
  • Educating younger patients’ parents and teachers on using natural environment activities to improve communication issues.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest ABA-related information, techniques, and developments.
  • Keeping detailed electronic records of behavior, treatments and improvements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities
  • Minimum-High school degree; Completion of 2-year college training preferred.
  • All candidates should have at least 1 year experience working in a caring capacity (nanny, sitter, head start teacher, etc.) with children with an intellectual and developmental disability.

We offer flexible work hours, generally 2 to 6 hours/day (10 to 30 hours/week) between morning or afternoon hours for some families. Behavior technician training is offered online and in-person in principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; supervision provided to therapists in the home leading to registration as a behavior technician (RBT) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Hourly salary is based on Registration as a Behavior Technician.
