Job Description
The Associate (Scheduler) is responsible for ensuring that all patients referred for services are scheduled in a timely fashion based on departmental procedures. This position collaborates with nursing staff, non-clinical staff, and other professional staff as well as referring provider offices to assist in an efficacious process flow and to ensure adherence to patient safety guidelines.
- Maintains schedule information.
- Ensures accuracy in all functions.
- Collaborate with Pre-registration staff to ensure all patients scheduled for services are pre-registered timely.
- Communicates with staff for add-on tests/procedures.
- Addresses the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for the hearing impaired, physically challenged or any other patient who may require services.
- Addresses the safety and psychological needs of the various age groups in planning and delivering services.
- Demonstrates appropriate understanding of the needs of patients and visitors for each specific age group.
- Performs other duties as deemed appropriate by management.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree in Business, or related field preferred.
- Two (2) years’ knowledge in Revenue Cycle, Health Care and/or Medical Field required.
- Computer literacy, typing skills, and medical terminology required.
- Basic office skills and computer keyboarding skills required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.
- Quantitative and analytical skills.
