ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Part Time Store Closer
1. Perform total store management responsibilities as required.
2. Manage, implement and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in all areas of the store to be compliant with federal, state local and Stop and Shop policy and procedures.
3. Maintain a safe environment for all customers and associates.
4. Minimize store expenses through efficient use of supplies, proper use of equipment and heightened awareness on identifying new cost cutting opportunities.
5. Ensure the on-going maintenance and organization of the grocery backroom in order to promote proper product rotation and associate productivity.
6. Ensure that all products received is processed and stored in accordance with company policy.
7. Operate equipment including but not limited to: electric and manual pallet jack, hi-lift stacker, compactor, baler, case cutters, symbol guns and clean sweep procedures.
8. Maintain superior customer relations throughout the store through polite and efficient handling of customer inquiries and complaints, monitoring associates appearance and conduct, maintaining acceptable service levels established by the company, and if requested, interact with government regulatory agency officials in a manner that is consistent with company policy.
9. Ensure the maintenance of a friendly, professional and well organized image throughout the entire store particularly in those areas that are visible to the customer and impact directly on customer perceptions of the store and company.
10. Help maintain the company sign program, merchandise weekly distributions and seasonal product and order shelf stock and sale items.
11. Identify and address any store maintenance problems by conducting routine refrigeration checks according to company guidelines, administering preventive maintenance programs, and training associates on the proper use and maintenance of refrigeration and equipment.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Administer and enforce company policy as it pertains to deposits, check cashing, refunds/double money back, gift certificates, gift cards, door seals, bomb threats, fire/store evacuation, robbery, medical emergencies/customer-associate, shoplifting, power loss procedures, dsd certification, Hippa certification, blood borne pathogen certification, western union certification, PSE certification, union awareness activity, WIC program, food stamp policy, donation policy, OSHA regulations, MSDS procedures, product complaints, minor laws, department opening/closing procedures, ground beef production, product recalls, associate purchase policy, associate concerns/guarantee of fair treatment, media inquiries, no solicitation policy, basic P&L knowledge, labor management, and administration to include voice mail, e-mail, on time delivery tracking and resolution center/synergy system.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: To perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:
1. Education (Minimum Needed): High school diploma required, some college preferred.
2. Experience (Minimum Needed): Previous grocery retail management experience preferred.
3. Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job: Grocery, customer service, merchandising and general product knowledge.
4. Special Skills: Interpersonal, decision making, delegation, leadership and conflict management skills.
