What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Storage Rentals of America?
The Janitor will perform overall cleanliness of an assigned SROA property or properties.
Duties and responsibilities
- Walk thru to check units
- Walk thru of perimeter of facility-sweep all trash / leaves
- Empty trash bins
- Move abandoned items to dumpster
- Clean restrooms
- Clean vacant units-sweep, mops, and vacuum.
- Clean elevators-vacuum, wipe doors, clean light panels
- Clean sidewalk
- Clean dumpster area
- Clean stairwells
Qualifications
- A High School diploma / GED equivalent.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all associates.
- Must be able to read and interpret basic maintenance instructions, directions, government requirements, and labels in English and must possess the ability to write simple reports, use a computer, and present information to supervisor.
- The job requires a person to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

- Able to lift and carry (frequently) up to 45 pounds (paint, supplies).

- Able to push / pull up to 150 pounds, move appliances, use appliance dolly, move hot water tanks and other machinery and heavy equipment as needed.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
