About the Regional Director of Operations:
The Regional Director of Operations requires a deep operations knowledge, a commitment to continuous improvement, and demonstrated customer obsession. The leader is accountable for all activities across multiple fulfillment center operations. The leader must provide a strong vision and direction for the team, drive operational excellence, and implement scalable processes to meet business objectives. The RDO will lead a team comprised of site leaders, exempt operations management, non-exempt associates, and other teams as assigned.
This is a senior-level management position that is fully accountable for the service and P&L results of the Area of Responsibility (AOR). It is preferred the role is within a commutable distance of an active Stord Fulfillment Center.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and own P&L for the AOR.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and improve customer satisfaction across all fulfillment centers within the AOR.
- Regularly monitor and report on key operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruiting and strategic labor planning efforts
- Manage the operational budget for the AOR, ensuring effective resource allocation, cost control, and profitability.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive peak season strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver an unmatched customer experience.
- Build a culture and develop leaders by inspiring and empowering managers and embodying Stord’s core values.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the talent in AOR
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Site Leaders and Operations Managers, ensuring alignment with company values, mission, and objectives.
- Ensure the safety and security of both staff and inventory by identifying potential risks and implementing measures to mitigate them.
- This position requires a results-oriented, high-energy, dynamic individual with both stamina and mental quickness to be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while motivating others to meet the challenges of a deadline-driven operation.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field
- 10 years of management experience in high velocity omni-channel fulfillment operations, with a proven track record of managing multiple facilities or operations with superior outcomes.
- Experience leading teams of 200 people, including salaried employees, with a demonstrated history of leadership capabilities and an ability to motivate/develop teams.
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience developing and owning P&L across multiple fulfillment/distribution centers.
- Experience monitoring financial performance within a fulfillment center/distribution center, including cost per order, cost per unit, throughput, orders per hour, and more.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to executives on operational performance.
