As an urban infill developer, we are exclusively focused on developing communities in thriving neighborhoods surrounding major downtowns. Our vertically integrated approach to development is at the heart of our success and our in-house expertise includes civil engineering, architecture, construction management, sales, customer service, and property management. Our in-house design team is located in Austin, Texas, and designs the majority of StoryBuilt projects across the country. Projects range from developments with small groupings of single-family homes to 10 acre planned communities which can include commercial buildings, condominiums, apartments, townhomes, hotels, etc. The StoryBuilt team considers all urban typologies on our projects and strategically designs complete communities, providing in-demand housing and commercial buildings along with thoughtful urban spaces to help our communities thrive.
The Analyst or Associate will work directly with members of the Capital Markets and Investments teams to support the planning and execution of all facets of various transactions and investment management activities. Transaction activities include deal modeling, OMs, and market research for deals involving land acquisitions, JV equity, private wealth syndications, land/construction debt, property divestitures, and, from time to time, M&A/corporate development. Investment management activities include portfolio analysis, enterprise modeling, and market research. The role is well positioned for success-based promotion to Director or mobility to other areas
Responsibilities:
- Heavy financial modeling for buy-side and sell-side real estate and corporate development transactions
- Monthly/quarterly/annual JV portfolio risk/return modeling and corporate enterprise modeling
- Supporting due diligence for all transactions in process
- Monthly write ups for transactions in process pertaining to status, risks, and due diligence
- Broad-based statistical research related to the debt/equity markets and profiling on selected institutional and private wealth investors
- Broad-based statistical research of property markets of Austin, Dallas, Denver, and Seattle as well as selected individual submarkets/neighborhoods
- Generate ad hoc analysis as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate
- 1-2 years in Analyst role with heavy emphasis in real estate financial modeling, waterfall modeling, stress testing, and portfolio analysis (modeling test)
- Interested in and regularly curious about the real estate markets and finance
- Ability to exercise professional due care (thoroughness), engage in self-auditing, and demonstrate tenacity under time pressure
- Ability to communicate findings and translate
- Ability to organize time/output for best outcomes and according to expectations
