Better Business Bureau | Cincinnati is seeking a Public Relations / Engagement Specialist to be the public face of our organization. As our Public Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for all public relations activity including media contacts, issuing press releases, writing all public relation content, and community outreach to organizations throughout the 20-county service area of BBB|Cincinnati.

Additionally, you will:

• Serve as media contact, issue press releases, and write all public relations content in collaboration with our Marketing team.
• Act as liaison between the BBB and local media, including setting up interviews, pitching stories, doing research, writing press releases, etc.
• Attend trade shows and other events on behalf of the BBB.
• Lead training classes as well as sessions for our In Pursuit of Ethics program.
• Monitor, create, and compile impact reports based on data obtained.
• Work with Accredited Business Engagement Specialist to create and implement a strategic engagement plan that aligns with retention goals
• Continually look for outreach opportunities to engage accredited businesses and the community as a whole

Bring your confident, outgoing, engaging personality, drive to be the consummate professional, and passion for ethics, as well as:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Three plus years of relevant professional experience; experience in an agency or internal Marketing/PR Department required
• Ability to tell a captivating story clearly and concisely, both in writing and orally.
• Solid knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and the ability to proofread are a must!
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong research skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Applications for Business.
• Willingness to regularly travel locally, with occasional overnight travel; due to deadlines and scheduling, there may be a need to work beyond regular office hours.
• Proficiency in Cison is preferred.
