This role is crucial in empowering patients to effectively manage their diabetes through education, support, and personalized care. We are currently growing and expanding so we are looking to fill a registered dietitian position in Lake Mary, FL.
Responsibilities: .
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to integrate medical nutrition therapy into the management of their patients with diabetes
- Communicates information pertinent to the nutritional care of the patient through documentation in the patient's medical record
- Develop and implement nutritional care plans
- Utilize a patient-centered approach to encourage and support individuals in making positive changes to their lifestyle, diet, and medication adherence.
- Provide high quality, evidence-based care to each patient
- Monitor, evaluate, and document the progress of patients in achieving their diabetes management goal
- Stay current with the most recent diabetes-related technology, trends, research, policy, and standards of care
- Utilize educational materials, technology, and other resources effectively to enhance patient understanding and engagement.
- Offer education to the patients both individually and in a group setting
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care Education Specialist preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing diabetes education and counseling
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations
- Proficiency in using educational materials and technology for patient education
- Proficiency in diabetic-related medical technologies and software.
