POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all aspects of the company’s human resources function. This is a working manager role and is directly responsible for performing recruiting and retention best practices, benefits administration, and compliance reporting.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS SUMMARY:
Human resources systems and procedures are to be followed and created as necessary to deliver efficient service to the business and ensure regulatory compliance. The recruiting function operates efficiently and provides candidates with positive attitudes that are a good cultural and skill fit.
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and participate in all aspects of the human resources function including: benefits, compensation, payroll, compliance, employee relations, organization development and recruiting
- Participate in the budget process and operate the department in accordance with the approved budget including approving appropriate invoices
- Evaluate and implement continuous improvement initiatives for department efficiency and cost reductions; this would include information flow, use of technology and the assessment of outsourcing various activities and functions
- Develop short-term and long-term human resources goals and measurements in support of company strategic initiatives
- Provide leadership to the human resources department staff from day-to-day problem solving through career development
- Assist managers in developing an effective staff and promoting positive employee relations to ensure union-free status
- Assist managers and supervisors in understanding and consistently administering company policies and procedures
SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and work closely with the third party administrators and suppliers of benefit programs and participate in the negotiation of the annual benefit renewal packages
- Ensure compliance with mandated benefit programs (workers compensation, unemployment compensation, FMLA, COBRA)
- Maintain compliance and reporting for EEO and Affirmative Action programs, ERISA benefits and the FAA Drug and Alcohol testing regulations
- Develop and distribute employment and benefit communication materials for employees
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- B.S. or B. A. Degree in Human Resources, Business, or Management
- 5 years of experience in an HR role
- 5 years of experience in a Benefits Administration/Compliance role
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Demonstrated competencies in analysis, problem solving, verbal and written communication, planning and decision-making, and process improvements
- Experience with HRIS\Payroll system (PayCor) a plus
- Microsoft Office
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires talking and listening while frequently standing, walking and sitting.The environment may occasionally include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually quiet.

WORK SCHEDULE OPTIONS
We have a unique culture which offers a variety of work schedules. The Compressed Work Schedule option (9/9s) generates almost every-other Friday off (with exception based around holidays). Compressed Work Schedule is not mandatory but is chosen by the majority of our team. In addition, we have a range of start times to choose from, 2nd shift options and overtime availability.
