National Account Manager

*This position can be based out of any of our office locations (Kalamazoo, Farmington Hills/Detroit, Deerfield/Chicago, or Cincinnati) however travel to Kalamazoo for orientation week as well as for training a couple of days during first week will be required*
Responsibilities:
1. Determine Organization & Develop Organizational Chart (Division, Companies, Groups)
2. Determine Contracts, Decision makers - Develop “linkage” between management and the plants
3. Develop “Pilot” Programs by Individual Plants, Divisions
4. Pursue Corporate influence and develop to 80%
5. Develop relationships at the Plant levels for day to day integration and management.
6. Develop and execute a marketing program with short- and long-range goals.
7. Function as communications link for all new national business activity. All national account leads would be directed to this department, and then appropriate persons would be assigned for follow up.
8. Determine what specific national accounts the firm will cultivate.
9. Determine number of projects and fee volume for national account activity.
10. Establish performance objectives for each selected national account to include:
- Number of desired projects
- Number of interviews likely needed to generate a job
- Number of personal and telephone contacts likely required generating the desired number of interviews.
- Number of organizations to be contacted including past and present clients, prospects, leads, activities.
- Number of days to be spent by specific persons in business development.
11. Develop list of prospective clients to be contacted.12. Organize and screen leads to product efficient procedure for scheduling contacts.13. Monitor all follow-up duties, including:
- Follow-up to cold or research calls
- Follow-up to correspondence
- Follow-up to presentations of proposals
- Follow-up after completion of the job
14. Maintain a control system to measure the performance of the marketing effort.15. Develop strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work at the firm, specific target market and individual prospect and projects levels.16. Make direct contacts with national account leads, prospects, clients (who are prospects), influences, and others; and coordinate the activities of others who are also making contacts, presentations, interviews and the like. This coordination activity will include providing others with materials and information needed to carry out the business development activities relating to national accounts.17. Take primary responsibility for determining what materials and information are needed and coordinating the production of such materials and information. This will include graphic brochures, presentation materials, the U.S. Government #254, #255, business development correspondence, etc.18. Take primary responsibility for preparing national account proposals, coordinating such activities with appropriate management and project manager staff.19. Play a coordinating role in preparing content for interviews and presentations for national accounts including determining the appropriate participation by other specific personnel.20. Follow up for all past clients through correspondence, calls, and meetings. Assist in ground breakings, grand openings, etc. Keep current on all client relations via the Project Managers.21. Participate in the firm’s professional development program. Provide personal training for PR, image-making, sales tools, client relations, and gathering input from key experts in-house and from all staff.Qualifications:1. Five to ten years experience including national account management of Fortune 500 companies.2. Ability to work with people internally and externally.3. Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.4. High rating on StructureTec “Targeted Selection” criteria.5. Must meet all requirements for the National Account Manager position.
