Microschool Instructor

Studyville is an academic workspace helping grades 4-12. Students will have on-demand access to homework help with expert tutors, private tutoring, ACT/SAT test prep, group study, and college counseling in a fun space that's all their own.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Studyville is a revolutionary academic workspace promoting a stress-free, welcoming, and inspiring environment. We are searching for high-quality tutors who will provide supplemental education services in fulfilling our mission, “To provide exceptional study and tutoring experiences for middle and high school students in a stress-free environment, create partnerships between students and tutors, and serve as academic consultants for both the student client and their parents.
A Studyville tutor assures a superior customer experience by providing competent and collaborative help to all assigned students. Our tutors must be relatable and create an inspiring learning experience that encourages students in their studies.
Starting pay for tutors is $20.00/hr

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide competent and effective educational support for assigned students and subject matter
• Must be confident and capable of communicating and teaching assigned subject-matter on the spot
• Prepare for each instructional session/clas; gather and prepare materials as appropriate including review and understanding of individual student requirements
• Develop relationships and take a vested interest in each student such that the student feels comfortable and the tutor is informed on the learning needs and progress of each student
• Comply with all Studyville objectives, guidelines and procedures regarding student interactions, dress code, and communication expectations
• Maintain daily student records including evaluation and tracking of progress
• Be positive, enthusiastic, and encouraging through all student and family interaction
• Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting space at Studyville

REQUIREMENTS

• Four-year degree in assigned discipline or a related field (preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate with students
• Tutoring/teaching experience preferred
• Ability to tutor science, foreign languages, and math preferred, but all subjects welcome

SCHEDULE

• Must have availability to work mornings to early afternoons on weekdays
• Afternoon to night-time availability for after-school tutoring can be added too

• M-Th: 8:30am-2:30pm

STUDYVILLE AFTER-SCHOOL HOURS OF OPERATION

• M-Th: 3-9pm
• Fri-Sat: By Appointment
• Sun: 12-7pm
