STV currently has a hybrid opening in our Los Angeles, CA offices for a Designer in our Transportation and Infrastructure division.
Responsibilities:
- Works on multiple complex issues of diverse scope where analysis of architectural design requires in-depth evaluations of variable factors
- Leads teams of architects, engineers, and designers and takes overall responsibility for small to medium size projects
- Exercises independent judgement in selecting methods, techniques when evaluating solutions for design and technical issues
- Interacts with senior personnel
- Ability to lead presentations with clients and serve as external spokesperson for company
- Receives general instructions on new work and little instruction on day-to-day work
- Supervises and provides instruction to project team and more junior personnel
- Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced Designer with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative, constructible, and practical solutions
Required Experience:
- The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Architecture and 8 years of related experience
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Excellent design, technical detailing and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential
- The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on client needs
