STV is an international multi-discipline engineering/architectural consulting and construction management company. Our award-winning portfolio within the Transportation & Infrastructure Division includes engineering and architectural assignments within the Federal, Educational, Institutional, Justice and Environmental market sectors. Our staff is comprised of structural, rail, transportation, civil engineers and architects, planners and programmers, amongst others.
We currently have an opening in our Charlotte office for a Structural Engineer in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with and work with a team of engineers designing and producing a variety of design build and design-bid-build road, rail, and transit design projects, including preparing proposal support, renderings, drawings, details, material selection, and assisting in developing plans, specifications, reports, coordinating with manufacturers, site reconnaissance and contributing to project management, scheduling and planning. Along with bridge design, you will review design plans and submittals for public infrastructure projects. This position may also involve coordinating and overseeing the work of junior-level design staff on the project team.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Basic design calculations for new and existing bridges, retaining walls, culverts and other structures related to transportation.
- Creating construction documents, including drawings and specifications
- Other design and project management opportunities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
- Minimum of 5 years of structural design experience required
- PE license is Required, NC PE preferred
- Experience with MicroStation, Open Bridge Designer / Leap, STAADPRO, RAM, AutoCAD, & MS Office
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work on a team and communicate with clients
