What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at Submaterial LLC?
This is a fast paced, hands on position. Working in a team environment. Responsible for the assembly of products using established production procedures, following safety protocol, and adhering to company’s quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
· Cut and assemble materials using various fabrication techniques according to instructions.
· Evaluate quality of materials. Identify problems or imperfections in products.
· Pack products and prepare them for shipment
· Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.
· Unload and organize and stock materials
· Minimum 32 hours per week. May work overtime when it is available.
· Accountable for the production tasks they interact with directly.
· Develop skills and increase value of work contributions by cross training in multiple production departments over time.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Team oriented, willing to work in a team environment in same or different departments. Engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers.
· Use different types of hand tools (scissors, razors, glue gun, pliers, …xx), power tools (jigs and dies) and equipment.
· Punctual and dependable, be present to meet specific company goals. Works efficiently and manages time effectively.
· Patient, to do one type of job repetitively and continuously for hours.
· Detail oriented
· Ability to stay focused and pleasant under pressure.
Education and Experience:
· Basic understanding of math and geometry.
· Strong communication skills.
· Familiarity with/experience working in production methods (lean, Kaizen, Kanban, KPIs, etc) a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand 8-10 hours per shift. This position primarily works in a manufacturing environment with a cement floor.
· Excellent manual dexterity, use of hands and fingers to perform job functions
· Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. Good hand and eye coordination.
· Stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling lifting, grasping, repetitive motion.
· Ability to lift 35 - 50 lbs.
· May be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and protective footwear.

· Face masks are required to be worn onsite at all times.
