What are the responsibilities and job description for the Subrogation Specialist position at SubroSmart?
Position Summary: Responsible for handling subrogation matters throughout the comprehensive subrogation management process including investigation, negotiation and settlement of third party liability matters.
Position Responsibilities
- Ability through experience and education to appropriately handle commercial auto and property subrogation files of varying complexity
- Ability to manage large volume of tasks through prioritization and focused time management
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all types of subrogation files including commercial auto, fire, cargo and products liability
- Comfortable on the phone interviewing witnesses and negotiations with liability carriers and adverse parties
- Identifies tortfeasor, review liability analysis, assess damages and negotiate settlements.
- Diligently pursues tortfeasors and adverse parties by telephone, letter, or email
- Prepares subrogation correspondence
- Documents files to include all communications, current file updates, analysis, file resolution recommendations.
- Maintains a diary to ensure timely follow up and handling.
- Requires accomplished communication skills with a strong phone presence in extensive communication with insurance company clients, attorneys, law enforcement agencies and insureds
- Must be able to handle difficult conversations and exhibit conflict management skills. All communication must maintain a reputation of professionalism, courtesy and respect
- Assists team members and external customers with the resolution of moderately complex questions
- Ability to work within a team environment in a positive and cooperative manner. Must be production and results oriented and consistently perform at or above given goals to include recovery, file quality and resolution timeliness.

Education and Experience
- 2-5 years of subrogation experience preferred including transportation claims
- High School Diploma required, Associates Degree or higher preferred
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of subrogation principles and processes.
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Multi-lingual literacy a plus

Pay: $1.00 - $30.00 per hour
